Individual Prizes
What are they?
Individual prizes reward individual students as they reach certain donation milestones which you have determined before the fundraiser.
What are some examples?
Individual prizes can be physical, tangible items, such as a fidget spinner, mini football, eraser, or gift card, or they can be experiential, such as a no homework pass or 5 minutes of extra recess.
What should prize levels be?
This is totally up to you! Keep in mind that students will earn prizes for every level they have reached. You can have as many or as few as you want! At a minimum, a log-on prize is highly encouraged. An example of prize levels would be:
- Prize 1: Log-On Prize
- Prize 2: $30
- Prize 3: $60
- Prize 4: $90
- Prize 5: $150
- Prize 6: $300
- Prize 7: $500
- Prize 3: $1,000
Pro's: This is the most incentivizing for students and the donation site is optimized for this prize method
Con's: Not as all inclusive as other methods, and adds an additional cost if you choose to do physical, tangible prizes
Group Rewards
What are they?
Group rewards incentivize groups of students as they reach certain donation milestones which you have determined before the fundraiser. These can be by class, grade, or the entire school!
What are some examples?
Although these can be physical prizes, more often these are experiences the entire group can participate in. Attached is a list of suggested experience rewards! Movie day, a dance party, pie a teacher, bring a stuffy to school, crazy hair/ hat day, to name a few!
What should prize levels be?
The reward levels will differ depending on if you are doing these by class, grade, or school. A good place to start is to divide the group's goal by 5. So, if the goal is for each grade to raise $2,000, then:
- Reward 1: Log-On Prize
- Reward 2: $400
- Reward 3: $800
- Reward 4: $1,200
- Reward 5: $1,600
- Reward 6: $2,000
Pro's: All inclusive, and creates extra fun and excitement around your fundraiser
Con's: Not as financially effective, and the site is not built for it so workarounds are required
Sweepstakes (Raffles)
What are they?
Students earn raffle tickets as they reach certain donation milestones which you have determined before the fundraiser, which they can then use to enter sweepstakes for prizes
What are some examples?
The prizes for a raffle are generally physical, tangible prizes of high value, such as gift cards, an electric scooter, or a Nintendo Wii.
Functional, how does this work?
Your donation site cannot naturally support sweepstakes. However, we can upload raffle tickets as individual student prizes so that you can pull a report telling you how many tickets each student earned. After that, you'll have to manage the submission of tickets and the rewarding of prizes on your own.
What should prize levels be?
Adding too many raffle tickets can clutter your site and create unnecessary work for you later on! Allowing each student to earn a max of 6 raffle tickets is suggested:
- Raffle ticket #1: Log-On
- Raffle ticket #2: $400
- Raffle ticket #3: $800
- Raffle ticket #4: $1,200
- Raffle ticket #5: $1,600
- Raffle ticket #6: $2,000
Pro's: Gives students the power of choice and the potentially to earn big rewards
Con's: Can be a headache for you to manage on the backend
